A very sentimental project, these three artworks were specifically created as presents to thank as many coworkers of mine as possible, back when I was working at Home Depot. I was actually only employed there between August of 2019 and March of 2020, but then had to leave due to COVID, in order to stay home for the sake of my grandparents. But in that very short period of time, I not only got promoted to full-time in less than 3 months, but developed a rapport with almost the entire staff that even surpassed my reputation at Pooler Cinemas.
As a way to show my sincerest thanks to everyone there, I created three different images that reflected my feelings towards specific individuals. Some people I felt exemplified one thing to me, and so they were in the group that got one particular image, while others received one of the other two images. Once I finished these artworks, I physically printed them out, placed each inside a sheet protector, and wrote each person's name on a sticky note in order to make sure everyone received a copy they could frame, if they chose.
Sadly, I presented these pictures to everyone just a month before I ended up leaving, since Covid began creeping out of the shadows by mid-March. But everyone up through the GM was touched and impressed with the gesture (some even cried), as much as I was touched and impressed with their professionalism and comradery. Working at Home Depot was always a tough gig, but I won't easily forget my team in orange.
