Go-Go-Gadget in the Nick of TIme!

Some Inspector Gadget art was well over-due, so I had this idea which had been rolling around in my head for a few months.
I think the over-all execution was near-perfect, but the expression and rendering on Penny's face, hands, and shoes turned out the best out of everything, chiefly because capturing that pseudo-Ghibli style is tricky, and drawing consistent fingers and hands in a particular pose is so so hard.

I attempted yet another new trick in this piece by breaking up the image into various layers, which were then separated in Z-space within After Effects, creating a slight sense of de-focused depth with regards to Gadget's propeller, arms, and legs. I also added Trapcode Shine in a vignette around the image to mildly enhance the falling sensation you get while looking at it.

Final composition, featuring Trapcode Particular and Shine to create speed-lines, and 3D depth with lens-blur.
